This webpage draws a latitude independent sundial called a Hectemoros dial. The design provided here is two-sided. Print the two diagrams and fix to either side of a small board or stiff card. Add a perpendicular 'pin' gnomon at the point shown by a little circle. To use the dial, place the bottom edge on a Prime Vertical line and then incline the dial until it is in the plane of the sun. The shadow of the pin will show your Local Apparent Time (sorry, only Northern Hemisphere hour numbering in this version).
The aim is to make the dial more readable by switching from one side to the other depending on the time of day. Follow the instructions on the card to decide which side to use and where to stand when taking a reading.
